Bender played 154 games over her college career, which is the most played by any player in the school’s history. As a freshman in 2012, she played in all 37 games earning 16 points on 3 goals and 13 assists. As a sophomore, Bender was Hockey East Second Team All-Star and earned many academic awards like the Athletic Director’s Award for Academic Achievement and was named a Hockey East Academic All-Star. As a junior, she had 29 points on 6 goals and 23 assists, helping the Eagles to the fourth-best goals-per-game average in the nation. As a senior, she was a Hockey East First Team All-Star as a senior and became a captain. She had a career-high 33 points on 6 goals and a career-high 27 assists.


Bender was first selected 15th overall in the 2015 NWHL Draft to the Boston Pride. Overall, she is 2-13-15 in 49 regular season games in her first three years with Boston. Her skill earned her selection to the 2018 NWHL All-Star Game and the 2019 All-Star Weekend in Nashville. She played with Team NWHL for its 2 game series against the U.S Olympic team prior to the games in Pyeongchang. In the 2018-19 season, she was awarded the VEDA NWHL Player of the Week.
