The NWHL announced today that the selections in the 2018 Draft will be revealed on Twitter and Instagram over a two-day period next week.
The picks in the first two rounds will be made beginning at 11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
The picks in rounds 3-5 will be made beginning at 11 a.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 20.
There will be five selections in each round. Each team will have 90 seconds to draft a player. Draft order was determined based on winning percentage in the first half of the current season, utilizing goal differential as the tiebreaker.

here is the possibility for some of the picks in the 2018 NWHL Draft to make an impact in the near future, since players could sign in the NWHL soon after their collegiate careers have ended. For example, Hayley Scamurra joined Buffalo immediately after Northeastern’s season was over in 2017 and played a role in the Beauts’ Isobel Cup triumph.
Of the 20 players selected in the 2017 Draft, 11 are currently in the NWHL:
Round 1: Katie Burt
Round 2: Sam Donovan, Savannah Harmon, Mallory Souliotis
Round 3: McKenna Brand
Round 4: Denisa Krizova, Annika Zalewski, Toni Ann Miano, Lauren Kelly
Round 5: Nina Rodgers, Amy Schlagel
