BUFFALO, N.Y. (July 25, 2018) -- The Buffalo Beauts today announced the team has agreed to terms with defenseman Sarah Edney.
Edney (5’6”, 9/2/1993) made her NWHL debut for the Beauts last season and recorded six points (3+3) in 14 games. Among Beauts defensemen, her totals were good for first in goals and second in points. She also scored a goal and added an assist in two Isobel Cup Playoff contests and participated in the 2018 All-Star Weekend.
“Sarah is a smooth skater and adds hockey sense and experience to our lineup,” General Manager Nik Fattey said. “She was an important part of our great team last year, and we are excited to have her back in Buffalo.”
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Edney attended Harvard University (ECAC) from 2011 to 2015 and recorded 88 points (25+63) and a plus-81 rating in 127 career contests. Among her many accolades at Harvard, Edney was named the ECAC’s Best Defenseman after her senior season in 2014-15 and was named to the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team after the 2011-12 campaign.
