Buffalo Beauts forward Taylor Accursi discusses her first season in the NWHL, how she has developed as a pro, and how she's preparing for the Isobel Cup Final
"I feel like my first season in the NWHL was great. It was filled with a lot of different situations that allowed me to develop my overall game.
"If I got one thing out of college hockey, it was how to be mentally tough. Whether it was at a game or practice, my teammates along with myself were being pushed daily.
"My strengths this season have been my speed, my playmaking abilities and — if it counts — my ability to celebrate with my teammates after a goal. Energy is contagious.
"I’m preparing for the Isobel Cup Final the way I would approach a regular season game. However, everyone knows what’s at stake and it’s going to be one great, fast-paced game.
“We've come together on the Beauts as a family unit. Everyone knows everyone else’s style of play, and at the end of the day we work hard for one another.
"As a rookie on the team and knowing that the Beauts are the only team to have made the Isobel Cup Final three times, it means that we have a target on our back. It also means that I am extremely lucky to be a part of such an amazing organization."
