Pride forward Dana Trivigno, who had two assists in Boston’s 3-2 victory over Connecticut on Saturday that sealed the third seed in the playoffs, has been named the NWHL Player of the Week.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be chosen as Player of the Week,” said Trivigno. “This award definitely wouldn’t have been possible without my teammates.”

Trivigno had the primary helper on the Pride goal by Jordan Smelker that gave Boston a 3-1 lead mid-way through the second period – a lead they would not relinquish. After Boston hosts the Riveters on Saturday, March 10 at Warrior Ice Arena in the final game of the regular season, they will face Buffalo at HarborCenter in the Isobel Cup semifinals on Saturday, March 17 at 5:30 p.m.

“We are definitely excited with the opportunity to go to Buffalo for the playoffs in two weeks after putting together a few wins,” said Trivigno, who starred at Boston College and won gold medals with Team USA at the 2015 and 2016 IIHF Women's World Championships. “The league has been very competitive this year and everything is certainly up for grabs in the playoffs.”

For the season, Trivigno has 3 goals and 5 assists for 8 points in 12 games with the Pride, and was a member of Team NWHL for its two-game series in January against the U.S. Olympic Team. Now, she and her team are focused on closing out the season strong.

“Whatever happens, will put our best effort into next week’s game and take it one step at a time,” said Trivigno. “It’s a very exciting time of year”!
