Cailey Hutchison recently finished her collegiate hockey career as a forward for the University of Maine. Prior to playing at the University of Maine, Hutchison was a member of the Northwood School Team. As a senior, she served as team captain and recorded 18 goals and 12 assists as well as a plus 11 plus-minus rating. Hutchison was also a four-time participant in the USA Hockey National Development Camp. Additionally, Hutchison excelled academically as she was a member of student council, honor roll, and high honor roll throughout her time in high school.
As a freshman at the University of Maine, Hutchison recorded one assist in 31 games. Hutchison tallied 35 shots on net and five blocked shots as well. At the end of the season, she was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team and was named a Maine Scholar Athlete. Hutchison recorded another one assist in 26 games as a sophomore. She also had nine blocked shots and 30 shots on net. For the second consecutive year, Hutchison was selected as a Maine Scholar Athlete for her academic achievement.
Last year, Hutchison recorded a career-high nine points off five goals and three assists in 38 games. Additionally, Hutchison finished the season with 16 blocked shots and was named a Maine Scholar Athlete for the third straight year.
This past season, Hutchison scored five goals and dished out five assists for a total of ten points in 32 games. She also recorded a career-high 65 shots on net and blocked 15 shots.
In December, Hutchison, a Hicksville, New York, native was drafted 21st overall by the Metropolitan Riveters in the 2018 NWHL draft. Hutchison will graduate at the end of the school year with a degree in nursing.
