Minnesota Whitecaps All-Star winger Jonna Curtis is the NWHL's Player of the Month for February.

Curtis began the month by scoring Team Dempsey's first goal in the 2020 NWHL All-Star Game in Boston on Feb. 9. After helping Team Dempsey win an unforgettable All-Star Game, the Whitecaps' all-time leading scorer in NWHL competition returned to regular season action and went on an absolute tear.

She finished the season with four consecutive multi-point games, piling up three goals and six assists in February and a two-assist game on March 1 against the Whale. Curtis made her mark on the Whitecaps' surging offense both at even strength and on the power play. Six of her nine points in the final stretch of the season were primary points earned at even strength and she scored her fourth power-play goal of the season against the Buffalo Beauts on Feb. 22.

As a result of her big February, Curtis finished the season tied with fellow All-Star Allie Thunstrom for the team-lead in points (36), despite missing three games due to injury. Her 1.71 Pts/GP average in 2019-20 was the best in the league and she finished the season with 22 assists, enough to lead the Whitecaps in helpers for a second straight season.

Curtis will look to continue the form she displayed in February on Sunday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. CDT in the Whitecaps' Isobel Cup Semifinal showdown against the Metropolitan Riveters. Tickets for the game are expected to move quickly and can be purchased now at whitecaps.nwhl.zone/tickets.
