“NWHL Open Ice” on Twitch Debuts Monday Night
“NWHL Open Ice,” a weekly, interactive talk show with players and others taking questions from host GamerDoc and fans about their lives in hockey and beyond the rink, will debut on Monday, Jan. 13. The program will be live on Twitch.tv/NWHL every Monday at 7 p.m. ET. The guests for the first five episodes of “NWHL Open Ice” are set:
Jan. 13: Amanda Leveille – Minnesota Whitecaps all-star goaltender
Jan. 20: Ana Orzechowski – Buffalo Beauts rookie defender
Jan. 27: Madison Packer – Metropolitan Riveters captain and all-star forward
Feb. 3: Christina Putigna (from the rink, right before practice!) – Boston Pride all-star forward
Feb. 10: Elena Orlando – Connecticut Whale all-star defender
“NWHL Open Ice” is hosted by “GamerDoc” – Dr. Lindsey Migliore, a medical doctor, gamer, and hockey player. Migliore is the founder of GamerDoc, an esports medicine brand designed to ensure everyone can game healthier, better, and longer, and has spoken nationally on the subject. Despite being a lifelong hockey fan, she only recently put on skates for the very first time, and has begun to learn about the game from inside the visor.
The goal of the show is for GamerDoc and the audience to learn a lot more about the guest, hockey, and their interests away from the rink. Fans will have the opportunity to ask questions in Twitch Chat, and the host will relay them to the guest.
Prior to this season, the NWHL signed a three-year partnership agreement with Twitch. In just the first three months of the season, the Twitch partnership has resulted in a significant increase in viewership of professional women’s hockey, with fans interacting in Chat during the games with other fans, broadcasters, and influencers.
