Massachusetts State Lottery Becomes an Official Partner of 2020 NWHL All-Star Weekend in Boston

by NWHL Media

The NWHL today announced that the Massachusetts State Lottery has become an Official Partner of 2020 NWHL All-Star Weekend in Boston.

“We thank everyone at the Massachusetts State Lottery for supporting women’s professional hockey and the star athletes of the NWHL,” said Commissioner Dani Rylan.

The Lottery has recently launched a brand campaign referring to Massachusetts as a “State of Winning.” That certainly is a fitting slogan not only for the success of the state’s sports teams like the first-place 20-1 Boston Pride of the NWHL, but the impact the Massachusetts State Lottery has on the community.

In the 2019 fiscal year, the Massachusetts State Lottery generated a record $5.5 billion in sales – with nearly $4 billion returned to lottery players in prize money. More than $1 billion went back to the Commonwealth to provide unrestricted local aid to the 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts. The Lottery’s network of 7,500 retailers earned a record $314 million in commissions and bonuses from selling Lottery products.

As the campaign points out, “That’s what it means to live and play in the State of Winning.”

At NWHL All-Star Weekend, the Massachusetts State Lottery will have signage and tabling, and receive promotional messages during all events. NWHL All-Star Weekend is at Warrior Ice Arena, the state-of-the-art home venue of the Boston Pride.

Featuring two 25-minute periods of breathless 4-on-4 play, the 2020 NWHL All-Star Game is on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m. The All-Star Skills Challenge, which includes the Fastest Skater, Fastest Goalie, Relay Race, Hardest Shot, Accuracy Shooting, and Full Team Shootout competitions, is on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m.
