CLG Executive and Gaming Pioneer MISSHARVEY to Stream NWHL All-Star Weekend on Her Twitch Channel
Pioneering esports legend MISSHARVEY of Counter Logic Gaming (CLG) is coming to NWHL All-Star Weekend in Boston to share her love of hockey on her Twitch channel.
The director of esports franchise development and outreach for CLG will stream live from the NWHL All-Star Skills Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. and the NWHL All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m. She will bring her coverage of the events to fans on twitch.tv/missharvey, where she has more than 115,000 followers.
“Hockey is the sport of my life and I love the NWHL! I view this as an opportunity to bring the league and the amazing players at All-Star Weekend to a wider audience,” said MISSHARVEY, a native of Quebec City and leading advocate for inclusivity-focused esports programming. “I’ll show the events from a different perspective, have a lot of fun with it, and hopefully win over new fans of the NWHL.”
Utilizing an IRL backpack, MISSHARVEY’S plans for the streams include on-the-bench interviews with players, conversations with fans, and behind-the-scenes looks at the Skills Challenge and All-Star Game.
MISSHARVEY works hand-in-hand with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), global sports leaders, and top figures in the esports industry to bridge the gap between both worlds. She was named by Forbes as one of the brightest “30 Under 30” in Gaming in 2014, was recognized by BBC in their “100 Women” series in 2016 and won the third season of “Canada’s Smartest Person” in 2016.
MISSHARVEY’S streaming of All-Star Weekend is the latest initiative of the NWHL’s multi-year partnership with Twitch, which began this season. NWHL games have generated more than 4 million live views so far this season. Last month, the league debuted the GamerDoc-hosted talk show “NWHL Open Ice,” which has generated more than 8,000 concurrent viewers in each of the last two episodes.
“We thank MISSHARVEY and everyone at CLG for collaborating with us and utilizing their talents and platform to create a convergence of gaming and women’s professional hockey,” said NWHL Founder and Commissioner Dani Rylan. “MISSHARVEY’S efforts for the NWHL are an inspiring example of a pioneer, entrepreneur and activist selflessly sharing her stage to bring a bigger spotlight to other female businesses and athletes. We are honored to have her at All-Star Weekend.”
