Where: Warrior Ice Arena, Boston, MA

When: Thursday, March 16th, at 7:30 pm

The Rundown:

The New England rivalry between these two teams is about to heat up just as Winter Storm Stella passes through the region. The top-seeded Boston Pride were handed their first loss in their last game of the regular season, falling 3-2 last Sunday to the resurgent New York Riveters at Barnabas Health Hockey House. Meanwhile, the Connecticut Whale blew an early lead in their game against the Buffalo Beauts last Sunday, ultimately suffering a 4-3 defeat that allowed the Beauts to clinch the third seed in the playoff standings.

Featured Players:

Brianna Decker, who earned the honor of being named the NWHL’s Player of the Week for two consecutive weeks, has been unstoppable as of late. She has accumulated at least one point in an NWHL-record nine consecutive games (8g,13a) and finished the regular season as the league's scoring leader with 31 points (14g,17a).

The Whale’s Kelli Stack has been a consistent offensive threat for her team and finished the regular season on a seven-game point streak (7g,3a). Team USA forward Zoe Hickel, who will be making her first appearance at Warrior Ice Arena in a green sweater, has been instrumental in her team’s push to the playoffs. Since the Whale acquired Hickel from the Pride, they have not lost a game by more than one goal.
