The Details:

Who: The League resumes play following the Thanksgiving break as the Boston Pride host the Connecticut Whale

Where: Warrior Ice Arena, Boston, MA

When: Saturday, December 3rd, at 7:30 pm

The Rundown:

The last time these teams played each other on November 12th, the Pride managed to shutout the Whale 3-0 with the help of netminder Brittany Ott. While the Pride have continued their undefeated streak this season after a 5-0 win over the Buffalo Beauts, the Whale look to recover from a shutout loss (0-4) to the New York Riveters, which marked the first time the Riveters had triumphed over the Whale in the eight meetings between the clubs in league history. The Whale are certainly looking for a much-needed win against the Pride on Saturday to dig themselves out of the bottom of the NWHL standings.

Featured Players:

Whale forward Haley Skarupa leads the League in goals scored (5) and is tied for the lead in points accumulated (9), while Kelly Babstock and Nicole Connery are tied for second in the League for assists (4). Goaltender Nicole Stock, who has posted a 2.50 GAA and .922 SV% in 3 games, will likely start in goal for the matchup against the Pride.

For the Pride, Brittany Ott, who leads the league in GAA (0.98) and SV% (.955), has backstopped her team to consecutive shutouts against the Whale and Beauts, the first goaltender to achieve this milestone in League history. On offense, rookie Alex Carpenter has been on a point streak over the last three games (2g,4a) and is tied with Skarupa for a League best of 9 points. On defense, Gigi Marvin and Blake Bolden lead all Pride defenseman in points (5) and both currently have a plus/minus rating of +6.
