The Details:

Who: The Boston Pride host the Connecticut Whale as the league resumes play from the Four Nations Cup in Finland.

Where: Warrior Ice Arena, Boston, MA

When: Saturday, November 12th, at 6:30 pm

The Rundown:

The Connecticut Whale (2-1) and Boston Pride (4-0) enter Saturday’s matchup as the two top teams in the NWHL. The Whale, who have yet to play at home this season, hope to extend their two-game winning streak after defeating the New York Riveters (4-2) and Buffalo Beauts (7-5). The Pride, meanwhile, have set an NWHL record for remaining undefeated in four consecutive games since the beginning of the season after defeating the Riveters (4-1) on home ice.

Featured Players:

The Whale feature a number of high performers after playing only three games so far. Teammates Dana Trivigno, Kelli Stack, and Haley Skarupa had the honor of representing Team USA in the Four Nations Cup in Finland, combining for a total of seven points. Stack, who scored a goal in Team USA’s gold medal game against Canada, has one goal and three assists with the Whale, while Skarupa leads the league in both goals and points (5g, 4a).

The Pride also feature a number (6) of players that participated in the international tournament, including Meghan Duggan, Kacey Bellamy, Brianna Decker, Hillary Knight, Alex Carpenter, and Amanda Pelkey. Pride co-captains Decker and Knight notched a combined 12 points alone, including three goals in the gold medal match against Canada that propelled Team USA to victory. Knight will be re-joining the Pride lineup on Saturday after missing the team’s first four games due to an injury sustained prior to the start of the season. Last year, Knight was the league’s regular season scoring champion (15g, 18a) and was named a captain at the first NWHL All-Star game.
