The Rundown:

The Pride enter Saturday’s matchup undefeated after playing the Beauts and New York Riveters back-to-back last week in Buffalo during the NWHL opening weekend. The Beauts are 1-1 after losing 1-4 to the Pride and coming back from behind to defeat to defeat the Connecticut Whale 5-4 two days later.

Featured Players:

The Pride already boast players with multiple points, with Alex Carpenter, Rachel Llanes, and co-captain Brainna Decker each tallying 2 goals in their first two contests. Alex Carpenter made her debut with the Pride this year after a successful four years with Boston College, finishing as the school’s career leader in points (278), goals (133), assists (145), power-play goals (26), game-winning goals (27) and plus/minus (+180). Decker, meanwhile, was named the NWHL’s Most Value Player last season.

The Beauts benefited from a stellar performance from Kelley Steadman, who scored 2 goals in their 5-4 win against the Whale last Sunday. Steadman played 10 games for the Beauts last season, amassing 13 goals and 7 assists with a 2.00 points per game average. She also scored the first ever goal in the inaugural NWHL All-Star game.
